Okavango Delta
The amazing
The half-water, half-grass Okavango Delta is a bird-watcher’s paradise, especially from November to March when the area is brimming with migratory birds. With over 400 bird species recorded, the diversity and density of waterbirds found in the Okavango Delta is simply staggering. The Okavango is Important Birding Area, home to 24 species of birds facing global endangerment, encompassing, among others, the Southern Ground-Hornbill, Wattled Crane, Slaty Egret and 6 species of Vulture.
